Broken Chains

Out of Touch...

It's amazing how much you can get done when you are almost completely cut off from the telephone and internet. After moving three weeks ago, we have been without both. Today we got phone service hooked up to the "demarcation point"--a box outside our house. Hopefully tonight we'll have it hooked up the rest of the way and we'll be able to connect with friends and family again.

All that to say--that's why I haven't posted pics of our beautiful house or talked about our first anniversary or Baby Igor who is presently attempted to kick his/her way out of his/her cozy little spot. Sorry, everyone, for being so out of touch.

In other news, I have a couple of prayer requests:

1. The pregnancy center where I volunteer is having their fundraising event on October 1. We're all looking forward to it, but it's going to be a ton of work between now and then. Pray that we stay sane, and that the evening is edifying and fruitful for our little ministry. And if anyone is interested in donating--let me know. We also have the most adorable baby calendars available for purchase; baby calendars with most of the pictures taken by yours truly. They are CUTE (the babies), and all proceeds go to the pregnancy center.

2. January and the birth of our first child is still a few months away, but I'm starting to get a little nervous about the whole health insurance stuff. Canada has socialized medicine, which means that citizens and permanent residents get most of their medical care paid for; if I don't receive approval for this before the baby's born, we'll have to pay the approximately $10,000 it will cost for the birth. I've applied for permanent residence, but the government is notoriously slow about things like this. Pray that the paperwork goes through in a timely manner.

I think that's all at the moment. I promise I'll post pics of the house (and my growing belly!) soon...
